Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) has announced a significant achievement in its operational history. The company has reached a production milestone of 8 million units, underscoring its robust manufacturing capabilities and deep market penetration in India since its inception in 2006.
SMIPL celebrated this landmark achievement at its manufacturing plant in Kherki Dhaula, Gurgaon, where the journey began with the mass production of the flagship scooter, Suzuki Access 125. Over the years, SMIPL has expanded its portfolio to include a range of scooters and motorcycles, catering to a diverse consumer base both domestically and internationally.
From reaching its first 4 million units in 13 years to doubling the production in less than 6 years, SMIPL's growth trajectory highlights its increasing efficiency and popularity. Notably, the company added the last 1 million units to its production count in just the past year alone, marking its fastest growth phase.
Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India, expressed his gratitude, stating, “Reaching the 8-million-unit production milestone is not just a testament to our manufacturing excellence but also to the trust and loyalty of our customers and partners. We remain committed to enhancing our offerings and after-sales services to continuously enrich customer experiences.”
SMIPL's current product line in India includes 125cc scooters such as the Access 125 and Burgman Street, mid-range motorcycles like the Gixxer series, and big bikes including the recently launched V-Strom 800 DE and the iconic Hayabusa. This wide range reflects SMIPL’s strategy to cater to varying customer needs and preferences, from daily commuting solutions to premium sports biking.
To celebrate this milestone, SMIPL has announced special sales and service offers for its customers. Prospective buyers can avail of a retail finance option at an attractive 8% rate of interest, while existing customers can benefit from a complimentary 8 Points Check-up. These offers are available at all Suzuki dealerships from April 20, 2024, until the end of the month, aiming to further bolster customer engagement and satisfaction.
