Suzuki has discontinued the Intruder 150 in India. The cruiser was first launched in 2017 in the country. While the reason for the OEM discontinuing the 150cc cruiser in India is not clear yet, it seems as if the sales figures of the motorcycle have compelled the OEM to pull the plug on the bike. There were zero sales of Suzuki Intruder 150 in India during the first six months of 2022.
The bike was priced upwards of INR 125,000 in different parts of the country. The 150cc bike was designed drawing inspiration from the bigger Suzuki Intruder 1800. The bike was capable of achieving a top speed of 120 KM/h. It was launched in India at a time when cruisers had started gaining much popularity among the end consumers.
Suzuki Intruder 150 had bagged 2,325 unit sales in its first month of launch. The bike, come February 2018, had recorded maximum monthly sales at 4,895 units. The OEM had launched a facelifted version of the bike in 2019.
It is not clear whether the brand will be launching a new bike in place of Intruder 150 or not. The sales figures of Bajaj Avenger, Royal Enfield Meteor and Jawa point out that India is a thriving market for cruisers. Suzuki, known for its cruisers in the global markets, would not want to miss on this opportunity.
