Chennai-based Sundaram-Clayton Ltd (SCL) has announced plans to divest its aluminium die-casting operations at its Hosur plant. The decision, approved by the company’s Board on February 19, includes both high-pressure and low-pressure die-casting units.
While the buyer and deal structure remain undisclosed, SCL has assured further updates once definitive agreements are in place. The transaction will be subject to regulatory approvals and necessary permissions.
Sundaram-Clayton, a major player in automotive aluminium die-casting, serves both domestic and global markets. The sale signals a potential strategic shift for the company, as it continues to focus on its core operations.
