Mrs Suman Minda, the Chairperson of Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation (SNMF), Uno Minda Limited's CSR wing, has been awarded an Honorary PhD Honoris Causa by the Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies.
The prestigious doctoral degree was conferred upon Mrs Minda in recognition of her exceptional contributions to society, spanning over three decades. She has been a driving force behind Uno Minda Group's CSR initiatives and has dedicated herself to numerous social causes.
The Jyoti centres oversee a range of community-focused programs that enhance education, provide vocational training, offer preventive and curative healthcare, and promote overall community well-being and development. One notable accomplishment is the transformation of many women into entrepreneurs through the support of self-help groups under the Samarth Jyoti banner, thus fostering financial independence. Additionally, Uno Minda operates a multi-speciality hospital and two schools for underprivileged communities within the country. The company also extends its community-centric programs to international locations.
Her unwavering commitment and service to society have earned her numerous prestigious awards, including the Mahatma Award for Lifetime Achievement for Leadership in CSR, Sustainability, and Philanthropic Work in India. Her accolades also include the CSR Leadership: Long Service Award, Mahatma Award for leadership in corporate social responsibility, and the Social Women Leader of the Year Award at the 3rd edition of the Women Empowerment and GIWL Awards in 2022, among others.
Expressing her gratitude upon receiving the honorary degree, Mrs Minda stated, 'I am grateful for being conferred this honor and express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has played a part in my efforts to contribute to society.
