Tamil Nadu Start-up and Innovation Mission (StartupTN) has launched a new initiative called the automotive electric vehicle and smart mobility forum. This is the first sectoral forum initiative of StartupTN.
StartupTN comes under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu and is the nodal agency for start-ups and innovation.
Creating an automotive electric vehicle and smart mobility forum aligns with the efforts of StartupTN to make Tamil Nadu the preferred global start-up destination. The forum was launched by V Vishnu, Managing Director and CEO, Guidance Tamil Nadu.
StartupTN, according to Sivarajah Ramanathan, its Mission Director & CEO, has drawn up elaborately curated high-impact activities to benefit start-ups and stakeholders associated with them.

On the occasion of launching the first sectoral forum, StartupTN also inked MoUs (memorandum of understanding) with Bosch and Mahindra & Mahindra to enable corporate - start-up connects for mentoring, product validation, testing, and corporate collaborations.
“StartupTN aims to create, support and nurture a vibrant start-up ecosystem in Tamil Nadu resulting in innovation and entrepreneurship-driven employment and economic growth, facilitating creation of at least 5,000 start-ups, including ten global high growth start-ups by 2023,” said its mission statement.
StartupTN helps aspiring founders or early-stage entrepreneurs scale their vision into a thriving business. It hosts events, investor meets, hackathons and many other programmes to help founders adapt to an entrepreneurial mindset.
