Sanjay Ghodawat Group-owned regional airline - Star Air has entered into a long-term Pool Programme services agreement with the Brazilian airframer Embraer to augment its E175 fleet.

Star Air leased four E175s in 2022 and started operations with two in May 2023.

Captain Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO, Star Air, 'The Pool Programme will enable us to leverage the reliability and performance of the E175s and the expertise of Embraer’s support and services team.”

The Embraer Pool Programme has been selected by more than 50 airlines worldwide. Star Air has also opted for Embraer’s Aircraft Health Analysis and Diagnosis (AHEAD) Premium offering, which provides early detection capabilities by monitoring systems trends and patterns of aircraft systems. This will increase aircraft availability, minimise unexpected maintenance downtime, reduce technical interruptions and avoid flight cancellations.

The airline already has an ongoing pool programme for its fleet of five ERJ145s. The airline’s 12-month average schedule reliability for this fleet is 99.67%, one of the highest among ERJ145 operators.

Star Air commenced commercial operations in January 2019 and presently operates from Bengaluru Airport (BLR) and Belagavi Airport (IXG) to 17 destinations across India, including Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Indore, Jodhpur, Kalaburagi, Mumbai, Surat, Tirupati, Jamnagar, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Bhuj, Bidar, Kolhapur and Jaipur.
