Leading Indian carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Monday launched the 2022 S-Presso with Next Gen K-Series 1.0L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with Idle-Start-Stop technology. Starting at INR 4.25 lakh for the base STD - MT trim level, the vehicle is hauled by a new power unit that delivers 49kW at 5,500rpm of power and 89Nm at 3,500rpm of torque.
With the new engine under the hood, the carmaker claims an enhanced fuel efficiency of 25.30 kmpl for the automatic transmission variants, 24.76 km/l for VXi and VXI+(O) trim levels with manual transmission and 24.12 km/ in the base variant.
Besides enhancing fuel efficiency, the company has updated the entry-level vehicle with multiple technology features, including a cabin air filter, ESP with Hill Hold Assist across all AGS variants and electrically adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear-View Mirror) in the Vxi+/Vxi+(O) variants.
Moreover, it also gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Pre-tensioner and force limiter, front seatbelts with reminder, high-speed alert system, and reverse parking sensors standard across all variants.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, noted that the company has sold around 202,500 units of the product ever since it entered the market three years back.
