JSW MG Motor India has reported that nearly half of its electric vehicle (EV) sales in 2024 came from South India, highlighting the region’s growing demand for electric mobility. According to VAHAN data, the company sold 22,646 EVs across India, with 10,698 units purchased in the southern states, making up 47.2% of total sales. Karnataka emerged as the highest-selling state for JSW MG Motor India, followed by Telangana and Kerala.
The strong market response in South India indicates an increasing preference for EVs among consumers in the region. The adoption of electric vehicles has been driven by state-level incentives, better charging infrastructure, and rising environmental awareness. JSW MG Motor India’s EV portfolio, which caters to a diverse range of customers, has played a key role in expanding its presence in the market.
Among the company’s best-selling models is the MG Windsor, which has been positioned as an affordable electric vehicle. The MG Comet has also seen strong demand, particularly in urban markets where compact EVs are preferred for daily commuting. The company’s premium electric SUV, the MG ZS EV, has also contributed to its strong sales performance. The vehicle’s prismatic cell battery offers higher energy density, ensuring better range and durability.
