Sony India Releases XAV-AX8500 Car AV Receiver mobility outlook

Sony India has unveiled its latest innovation in the realm of car AV receivers – the XAV-AX8500. Packed with customisable features, this new addition aims to elevate the in-car visual and audio experience for users, ensuring optimal viewing and enhanced sound quality.

The XAV-AX8500 boasts a high-definition capacitive 10.1-inch touchscreen with a gapless anti-glare display. Featuring an optically gapless design and a 1280 x 720 HD touchscreen, this model offers best-in-class picture quality, combining safety with ease of operation. The anti-glare filter improves touchscreen visibility by reducing sunlight reflections, ensuring a safer driving experience. HDMI connectivity further enables external audio and visual source device connections for viewing when parked.

With Wireless Smartphone Conversion, the XAV-AX8500 eliminates the need for physical connections, providing wireless connections to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This innovation enhances convenience and safety, seamlessly integrating smartphones with the car audio system. The 10.1-inch HD touchscreen ensures a visually immersive and user-friendly interface.

With a newly designed tilt and swivel mechanism, drivers can manually adjust the oversized display's viewing angles. Offering a range of ±15 degrees, both horizontally and vertically, this feature allows drivers to customise the viewing angle to their preferred seating position and avoid issues like sunlight reflection.

The XAV-AX8500 excels in sound customisation, featuring a built-in DSP with precise processing and time alignment for its five addressable channels. A 14-band EQ enables users to fine-tune audio preferences, ensuring exceptional sound quality. LDAC technology provides high-resolution wireless audio streaming, while a high-voltage pre-out (5V) minimises distortion when connected to a power amplifier.

The system has LDAC technology for unparalleled sound quality, allowing users to enjoy Bluetooth wireless audio at 96 kHz/24-bit sampling. This advanced audio codec ensures exceptional clarity and fidelity, delivering an immersive and high-quality listening experience.

Sony emphasises environmental sustainability in the XAV-AX8500's design. Packaging materials are made of 90% paper, and printed information has been optimised for simplicity and length, reducing printer ink usage by approximately 80%.
