Smiths Detection

Smiths Detection will supply passenger and hold baggage screening equipment to Noida International airport.

This will include the Hi- Scan 6040 DV to screen passenger carry-on baggage, the Hi-Scan 10080 XCT (a next generation high-speed computed tomography explosives detection system), the iLane A20 automatic tray return system and the IONSCAN 600 explosives and narcotics trace detector.

Additionally, multiple additional X-ray screening systems will be used to screen oversized goods.

Installation of equipment will begin in early 2024 and Smiths Detection will also provide round the clock service and maintenance for 10 years.

Vikrant Trilokekar, Managing Director of India, Smiths Detection, said Noida International Airport was set to become a major hub, both for travellers as well as air cargo and logistics.

The airport is scheduled to open in end-2024 and will feature one runway and terminal each, providing a capacity for 12 million passengers.
