The Czech carmaker Skoda Auto India, on Monday, launched Slavia, the second product under its India 2.0 project, with the 1.0L TSI engine option. The 1.5L TSI engine option will be launched on March 3, 2022, a release from the company stated.
Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the car is available across four trim levels with two transmission options for the particular engine option, with prices ranging from INR 10.69 lakh for the base trim - Active to INR 15.39 lakh, ex-showroom, India, for the Style (AT) variant.
The 1.0 litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol unit is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, generating 85kW (115ps) of power and 178 Nm of torque to the front wheels.
The TSI engine is rated for fuel efficiency of up to 19.47 kmpl and can accelerate zero to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds, the company claimed.
With 1,752 mm width, 1,507 mm height and 2,651 mm length, the new product is claimed to be the widest, tallest and the longest among its rivals. It also has a boot capacity of 521 litres and 1,050 litres, with the rear seats folded.
Available in Candy White, Brilliant Silver and Carbon Steel, and Crystal Blue and the Tornado Red exclusive to India, the front headlights and taillights are available with advanced LED technology and characterise the Skoda-typical crystalline details.
The sedan gets a 10-inch advanced touchscreen with the ability to download Skoda Play apps, wireless SmartLink and Skoda Connect for all infotainment and navigation needs, along with an 8-inch coloured programmable digital cockpit. Furthermore, the rear compartment gets dual AC vents and USB ports to charge personal devices.
On the safety side, it gets six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Differential System for enhanced traction under cornering, and Multi Collision Brake as standard. Customers can further opt for parking sensors, automatic brake disc cleaning function, rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring, Hill-hold Control, Cruise Control, auto headlamps, and wipers.
The car comes with a 4-year/100,000kms warranty as standard. In addition, customers can choose from various maintenance packages under Skoda Auto India’s ‘Peace of Mind’ programme.
The ownership costs are further kept in check with up to 95% localisation ensuring most parts and components are locally made, and replacements are affordable and readily available, the release stated.
