The Czech car manufacturer Škoda Auto has launched the Rapid Matte edition at a starting price of INR 11.99 lakh for the manual transmission option and INR 13.49 lakh for the AT, ex-showroom India.
The new product is offered only in the carbon steel matte colour with a glossy black door handle. Other changes over the regular Rapid include glossy black radiator grille and spoiler in the front, black body side moulding, gloss-black 16-inch alloy wheels, rear diffusor, black tailgate spoiler and a black trunk lip.
The interior has a dual-tone Tellur Grey finish with Alcantara inserts. The car gets a flat-bottom steering wheel and a 16.51 cm Drive Audio Player Central Infotainment System that sports a rearview camera.
Apart from the dual airbags and anti-lock braking system, which is standard across the Rapid range, the new car is getting Parktronic rear parking sensors, anti-glare interior rearview mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height-adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package and engine immobiliser with a floating code system.
The company claims to sell about 100,000 units of Rapid over the course of nine years.

Skoda offers the new edition with Shield Plus, which guarantees a trouble-free ownership experience for six years. In addition, it includes auto insurance, 24 x 7 roadside assistance, and an extended warranty.
