Yesterday, Skoda took the wraps off the Kylaq compact SUV, revealing its first sub-four-metre vehicle in almost a decade. Announced with a shock pricing of Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the car has received some segment-first features and is also the first India-spec model to sport the automaker’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language. We have covered the launch extensively and you can check it out on our website.
Along with the launch, Skoda also revealed that the bookings and the announcement of the full price list will happen on 2 December. This will then be followed by a public debut at the 2025 Auto Expo on 17 January and finally deliveries to customers taking place on 27 January, 2025. Unlike the Kushaq and the Slavia, the deliveries of which were in a phased manner due to the prevalent market scenario at that time, we expect all versions of the Kylaq to reach their new owners on 27 January.
The Kylaq is a crucial car for Skoda as it will be their shot at getting volumes of one lakh units a year by 2026. The compact SUV will lead the charge followed by an updated Kushaq and Slavia. They have also planned for at least one budget EV to arrive by 2027.
