Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has been honoured as the 'Top Exporter 2023-2024' by the Mumbai Port Authority, recognising its significant contribution to India’s automotive exports. This achievement highlights the company's consistent efforts over the past two decades to position India as a central player in the global vehicle export market.

By the end of 2024, SAVWIPL had exported over 675,000 vehicles from India to nearly 70 countries. In the last financial year alone, the company shipped more than 43,000 cars to over 26 countries across Asia, Africa, North America and the AGCC region. These exports included popular models such as the Volkswagen Polo and Vento, along with more recent offerings like the Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq. Notably, exports made up 40 percent of SAVWIPL’s total vehicle production in 2024, marking a year-on-year growth of 20 percent following a 38 percent rise the previous year.

In addition to complete vehicles, SAVWIPL has extended its export scope to include parts and components. It now exports materials to Vietnam from its Parts Expedition Centre in Pune to support regional vehicle assembly. This strategy not only enhances India’s value in the company’s global supply chain but also reflects a shift towards integrated operations beyond domestic manufacturing.
