Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has announced the appointment of Berndt A Buchmann as its Group Director, After Sales & Vehicle Logistics. Buchmann will report to Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director, SAVWIPL.

In his new role, Buchmann will be in charge of managing the aftersales plan of action, ensuring a satisfied client base for the group. 

His appointment comes at a time, when the festive season is accelerating automobile sales in the country and the carmaker has been reiterating its customer centricity across the board.

Boparai said Buchmann’s valuable experience of over 25 years in aftersales services and parts operations will surely add a lot of value to its customers, and “help deliver on our promise of providing the best ownership experience to them. We believe his holistic sectoral understanding will be an exceptional value add to the business.”

Prior to this, Buchmann was Director Group Aftersales & Head of VW Aftersales at Volkswagen Group Japan. He has considerable experience working with businesses such as VW Group AG, VW Group Russia & CIS, Groupe PSA, and AUDI AG.

I look forward to working closely with the leadership team to provide a seamless, transparent and tailor made customer experience to our valuable customers, which will help us realize our goals for the Indian and overseas markets,” Buchmann said. 

Justin Nolte, former Director of Group After Sales & Vehicle Logistics (VG) has completed his four-year assignment at SAVWIPL and will begin a new position at Volkswagen AG.
