Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWI), on Thursday, announced that it has crossed the 15 lakh production mark in India from its manufacturing facilities in Chakan, Pune and Shendra, Aurangabad.
According to a press release from the group, the milestone was accomplished with the production of Kushaq at its facility in Pune.
Piyush Arora, Managing Director, SAVWI, said, “Today we have 1.5 million reasons to be proud of our employees’ performance. Without them, the great result of SAVWI would be unimaginable.”
This feat highlights the collaboration between the global and Indian teams, who have been instrumental in putting India’s engineering and manufacturing expertise on the global map, he added.

At the Pune facility, the group currently produces the Skoda Kushaq and the Slavia along with VW’s Taigun, Virtus, Polo and Vento.
While at the Aurangabad facility, the group’s premium offerings from Skoda Volkswagen and Audi are produced.
