Czech car manufacturer Skoda Auto appointed Roland Villinger as the head of new products and corporate strategy for Skoda Automotive.

Roland Villinger was recently responsible for the implementation of Volkswagen Group’s strategy and previously led the corporate strategy of Audi AG for two and a half years.

In October 2016, Villinger moved to Audi AG as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Digital Officer. In this position, he was responsible for managing the manufacturer’s digital activities and also responsible for strategy. In 2019, he was appointed as the director of planning management of the Volkswagen Group.

Andre Wehner, the former head of ‘Corporate Development and Digitalisation’, has been appointed CIO of MAN.

André Wehner has been the Head of Corporate Development and Digitalisation at Skoda Auto for five years. Three years before, he was the CIO of Skoda Auto and was responsible for creating Skoda Auto DigiLab in Prague.

Guido Haak, the former head of Product Strategy and Modular Toolkit Management, has voluntarily left the Volkswagen Group and has been responsible for product strategy and Modular Toolkit Management for Skoda Auto for five and a half years.

Thomas Schäfer, Skoda Auto CEO, said, “I am delighted that we have been able to recruit Roland Villinger, an internationally experienced leader and proven digital expert, for this new position. At the same time, I would like to sincerely thank his predecessors Andre Wehner and Guido Haak for their work. They have made a significant contribution to Skoda Auto’s performance in recent years.”

Skoda Auto has combined the corporate development digitalisation department as well as the product strategy and modular tool management department to gather the critical issues of the future and benefit from synergies.

“By combining the departments’ Corporate Development and Digitalisation’ and ‘Product Strategy and Modular Toolkit Management’, we are uniting key future topics and leveraging synergies,” Schäfer added.
