SKF India has set up a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bangalore to focus on new and emerging requirements of customers and accelerate sustainable mobility solutions for India and Southeast Asia markets.
Located within its global engineering campus, the CoE will cater to the Indian two-wheeler and three-wheelers market, noted S Venkat, Director of Automotive Business - India & SEA, SKF India. He said, 'The CoE specifically aims at new product developments in order to be more competitive, address pain areas of customers and provide more value in terms of technology. We expect to see significant traction in the EV domain as well as interest in other emerging technologies.”
The CoE features research labs and cut sections of engines, transmission, and powertrain. SKF India, at the moment, is focusing on the two-wheeler OEMs with the launch. The company claims to have filed eight patents for a diverse set of 2W applications.
Venkat added, 'We expect to see significant traction in the EV domain as well as interest in other emerging technologies.”
