SKF India Limited has launched a mobile van campaign aimed at empowering two-wheeler mechanics across the country. Covering over 100 cities in 19 States, the initiative seeks to engage with more than 8,000 mechanics over the coming months, integrating skill development, product awareness, and anti-counterfeiting education to strengthen the automotive aftermarket ecosystem.
Counterfeiting remains a persistent challenge in the automotive industry, posing risks to both mechanics and consumers. SKF’s campaign directly addresses this issue by educating mechanics on identifying counterfeit products and promoting the use of genuine SKF parts. A key feature of the initiative is training on the SKF Authenticate App, which enables mechanics to verify product authenticity, thereby reducing reliance on substandard and potentially unsafe alternatives.
Alagesan Thasari, Director of SKF Automotive India & Southeast Asia, said, 'This campaign is a step forward in ensuring customer satisfaction and enhancing the skills of mechanics who play a vital role in the industry. By equipping them with the right knowledge and resources, we aim to elevate industry standards and contribute to a more sustainable and efficient aftermarket sector.'
The mobile van also serves as a platform for mechanics to interact with SKF’s extensive range of two-wheeler solutions, offering hands-on experience with high-quality components. Additionally, customers can benefit from SKF’s 15-month warranty programme, helping users reduce maintenance costs and improve vehicle performance.
Aligned with SKF’s purpose—‘Together, we re-imagine rotation for a better tomorrow’—this campaign reinforces the company’s dedication to developing intelligent, clean, and sustainable solutions that positively impact both people and the planet.
