SiMa.ai, a leader in software-centric, embedded edge machine learning system-on-chip (MLSoC) solutions, has unveiled its first System-on-Module (SoM) featuring the powerful MLSoC Modalix 50 TOPS device.

Developed in collaboration with Enclustra, an innovator in FPGA design and SoM development, this new addition to SiMa.ai’s portfolio aims to meet the growing demands of multi-modal and Gen AI use cases at the embedded edge. This compatibility significantly reduces development time and complexity, while enhancing flexibility for customers in a range of AI applications. The SoM, when paired with SiMa.ai’s Palette and Palette Edgematic, accelerates Gen AI application development, making it easier for companies to adopt cutting-edge technology.

This collaboration provides a compact, energy-efficient, and high-performance solution that is ideal for applications in robotics, industrial automation, and unmanned aerial systems, offering a turn-key solution that reduces deployment costs for edge AI applications.

Krishna Rangasayee, CEO and Founder of SiMa.ai, stated, 'The introduction of our Modalix SoM is a key expansion that addresses the diverse needs of the fragmented edge AI market. Our partnership with Enclustra is removing the integration barriers that typically slow companies down, enabling a seamless upgrade from legacy edge compute solutions.'

Philipp Baechtold, CEO of Enclustra, added, 'This collaboration with SiMa.ai is a game-changer. By combining our expertise in FPGA and SoM development with SiMa.ai’s MLSoC technology, we deliver a compact, scalable solution that enables businesses to fast-track AI adoption at the edge.'

Key features of the new SoM include best-in-class performance with a purpose-built MLSoC offering 50 TOPS of computing power optimized for edge AI workloads, adaptable integration and flexibility with a compact form factor and extensive input-output options, and accelerated development with SiMa.ai’s ONE Platform and Palette software suite. Additionally, the SoM supports open standards such as Python, PyTorch, and OpenCV, empowering developers to work within their preferred frameworks.

Scalable performance is achieved through advanced thermal management and real-time performance monitoring, supporting both commercial and industrial temperature grades. Customers can now register for priority access to engineering samples of the MLSoC Modalix SoM through the exclusive Early Access Program, streamlining their path to implementing cutting-edge AI solutions at the edge.
