In a decisive move to protect consumers and uphold quality standards, Schaeffler India, a leading motion technology company, has ramped up its fight against counterfeit products across major markets.

Working in close coordination with local law enforcement, Schaeffler’s Brand Protection team executed over 100 legal actions, including several successful raids in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, resulting in the seizure of counterfeit bearings and components falsely branded as FAG, INA, and LuK.

Recognising this growing threat, Schaeffler has significantly intensified its vigilance efforts, strengthening legal enforcement and actively collaborating with authorities to dismantle unauthorised supply chains peddling fake products.

Harsha Kadam, MD & CEO of Schaeffler India, said, “Counterfeit products undermine customer safety and trust. We remain steadfast in our commitment to eliminate counterfeiting by taking legal action, conducting awareness initiatives, and equipping customers with tools to verify product authenticity.”

As part of its customer engagement efforts, Schaeffler has outlined key steps to help buyers identify genuine products:

    • Unique Labelling & Code Verification: Schaeffler packaging includes a unique ID code and a 2D barcode, which can be scanned using the Schaeffler OriginCheck App.
    • Authentic Branding Details: Genuine products feature accurate logos, fonts, and laser-marked identification.
    • Verified Distribution: Buyers are encouraged to source only through Schaeffler-authorized distributors.

Beyond protecting its own trademarks, Schaeffler India views this initiative as critical to preventing unplanned equipment failures, escalating maintenance costs, and broader supply chain inefficiencies caused by fake components. The company continues to take stringent action against the misuse of its brand identity, reinforcing trust in authentic motion technology solutions.
