In a bid to recognise women achievers in the mobility sector and provide them with a platform to showcase their achievements, SAE India Bengaluru Section is organising ‘The Shift Forward – Women Shaping Mobility.’ One of the keynote speakers at the conference will be Dr Nigar Shaji, Director of the Aditya Mission at ISRO.
This event aims to help women find mentors to support their career journeys and to develop into mentors themselves for future generations of women in the industry.
The objective of the Bengaluru section of SAE India is to cover various aspects of the mobility sector, including Global Competence Centres, manufacturing and supply chain, traditional business operations in the age of technology, and the challenges and opportunities faced by startups. Additionally, the event will explore how regulations and homologations can support industry goals of net neutrality and safety. While this year's agenda does not delve deeply into specific technologies, it will address AI as a game changer poised to revolutionise business domains and verticals, creating numerous opportunities.
According to the Management Committee (MC) of the conference, the ultimate goal is to showcase pioneering women leaders in these fields, sharing their thought leadership to inspire and engage the audience. Supported by Nexteer and Volvo as Gold sponsors, and Continental, Bosch, and MathWorks as Silver sponsors, the MC has collaborated with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). For over seven decades, SWE has provided women engineers with a unique place and voice within the engineering industry while championing the cause of women in engineering. The MC aims to bring together women in the mobility sector, leveraging this collaboration with SWE to foster a supportive and empowering environment.
The conference has also partnered with Mobility Outlook, a pioneer in identifying women’s potential and celebrating them every day through its Women In Mobility programme.
