In less than three days, the conference 'The Shift Forward – Women Shaping Mobility' will commence in Bangalore. Organised by the Bengaluru Section of SAE India, this conference-cum-exhibition aims to help women find mentors to support their career journeys and to empower them to become mentors for future generations of women in the industry.
The event will cover various aspects of the mobility sector, including Global Competence Centres (GCCs), manufacturing and supply chain, traditional business operations in the age of technology, and the challenges and opportunities faced by startups. It promises numerous takeaways through several dedicated sessions.
Gayatri Dadheech, CTO of EXIDE, will deliver the keynote address on 'Business Leadership in a Technology-Enabled World' during the inaugural session, while Latha Chembrakalam, VP and Head of Technical Centre India at Continental Automotive, will deliver the welcome address.
A panel discussion titled “The Future of Innovation: Global Technical Centres in India” will feature Usha H V, Executive Director at Nexteer Automotive; Bindu Santa Phillip, VP Technology at Bosch Global Software Technologies India; and Armelle Guerin, VP Software & ADAS and DEI Global Business Leader at RNTBCI. Rashmi Rao, Principal Industry Manager - Automotive at MathWorks, will moderate the discussion. Topics will include the rise and impact of global technical centres, driving value in the transformation of the automotive industry, skilling and leadership for the future, and advice from the panellists on augmenting the future of innovation.
The second keynote address will be delivered by Shubhada Kanekal, Head of Vector Academy, and Pratibha Rajaram, Manager of Embedded Projects.
A special session titled ‘Introduction to Society of Women Engineers (SWE) India.’ Globally SWE has been providing women engineers with a unique place and voice within the engineering industry while championing the cause of women in engineering. Shweta Dhadiwal Baid Digital Media Consultant, SWE India will talk about the unique activities of SWE India.
To create an informal and engaging discussion with a high-profile speaker and industry leader, a Fireside Chat is organised with Nigar Shaji - Program Director, ISRO, and moderated by Rakhi Agarwal, Manager Project Management, Alstom.

The third panel discussion, titled 'Start-up Stories: Making the Next Big Move in Mobility,' will feature Madhumita Agrawal, Co-Founder & CEO of Oben Electric; Sapna Ahuja, CTO of MapmyIndia; and Vishakha Bhagat-Datey, Lead at CampX India Hub, Volvo Group. Moderated by Vasudeva Upadhyaya, Head of Projects - ASIA at Elektrobit, the discussion will delve into the journeys and inspirations behind each participant's company, the identification of local market opportunities, and how they carved out a successful niche for their startups. Additionally, the panel will address supply chain challenges, government regulations, and offer valuable advice to aspiring entrepreneurs on both the dos and don'ts of starting a business in the mobility sector.
Another Fireside Chat with Pamela Tikku- Vice President & Head - Auto Group Public Affairs at Mahindra Group, in conversation with Pradeep Chandrasekaran, Associate Director Vehicle Engineering OLA Electric Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The objective of this Fireside Chat is to create a space for meaningful, authentic, and engaging dialogue that provides valuable insights on the Safety and Regulations in Mobility sector.
The third Keynote on Operational Excellence in Supply Chain will be delivered by Pratibha Nath - Director of Supply Chain - India, Member of Board and Diversity & Inclusion Champion Alstom.
Before the closing ceremony, a special session is planned in which media partner Mobility Outlook will share its insights on launching the innovative concept – Women in Mobility. Murrali Thalor, Managing Editor of Mobility Outlook, will deliver a talk titled: 'Empowering Women to Lead and Innovate in the Mobility Sector.' This session promises to provide a deep dive into the initiatives and experiences that highlight the crucial role of women in shaping the future of mobility.
