Royal Enfield Unveils Meteor 650 At EICMA, Deliveries In Europe First

Royal Enfield has taken the curtains off the Super Meteor 650 at EICMA 2022. This latest cruiser motorcycle features a new mainframe, new bodywork, new suspension, new fuel tank, new side panels, new swing arm, and more. 

The company will first start deliveries of the Super Meteor in Europe in 2023. The motorcycle will be sold in two variants namely Super Meteor and Super Meteor Tourer. RE has not revealed any plans for launching this latest motorcycle in India. 

Siddhartha Lal, CEO & MD of parent company, Eicher Motors, said the Meteor 650 is RE's take on cruising. This is the first time that the company has used upside forks on a motorcycle.  

However, the engine remains the same which powers the existing twins. It produces a maximum power of 34.6 kW (47PS) at 7250 rpm, and a maximum torque of 52.3 Nm at 5650 rpm. 

The bike comes equipped with a LED headlamp, a low-slung seat, and an LCD instrument panel. The Super Meteor's fuel tank has a capacity of15.7 litres and the bike weighs 241 kg (with 90% fuel & oil). The front tyre  is 100/90 - 19 M/C 57H tubeless, while the rear is 150/80 B16 M/C 71H tubeless. 

It also features a dual channel ABS, a front single 320 mm disc, a twin-piston floating caliper, and a single 300 mm disc, a twin-piston floating caliper brake at the rear. RE will be retailing the motorcycle in seven different colours.
