The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber is set to go on sale in a few months. Leading up to the launch, the design patent of the bike has surfaced on the internet and the images show some interesting details.
Firstly, in some of the previous images of the Classic 350 Bobber, it was clear that it would come with a single seat as standard. This is typical of a Bobber-style motorcycle which is meant for solo riders. There’s an ape-hanger-style handlebar also thrown in for the full Bobber motorcycle effect. However, these new design patents show that the bike will come with the option of a pillion seat.
This is similar to what we’ve seen with the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 as well. One can attach a removable rear subframe to the bike which accommodates the pillion seat. Moreover, the pillion seat should be removable and could also double up the subframe as a tail rack.
The bike will also have white-side-walled tyres, adding to the ‘Classic’ effect. And, since this is a Royal Enfield and since they’ve been nailing the colour options on their recent motorcycles, expect to see period-correct colours on the Classic 350 Bobber.
The rest of the bodywork, be it the fuel tank, side panels and fenders will be taken from the Classic. So is the case with the chassis and the 349cc, J-series engine. It powers the current lineup– Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350, and Meteor 350. The unit makes 20.2bhp with 27Nm and is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
You can expect features like bulb illumination, an analogue console with an LCD inset, dual-channel ABS, and a probable Tripper-Navigation dial as well. Apart from that, the hardware includes telescopic front forks, and dual rear shocks, along with a front and rear disc brake setup.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber could be priced at around Rs. 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
