Global aerospace firm Rolls-Royce will set up a manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu at the Hosur Node of the Defence Industrial Corridor.
International Aerospace Manufacturing (IAM), a joint venture between Rolls-Royce and Hindustan Aeronautics that manufactures aero engine parts and components, have selected the location.
B Krishnamoorthy IOFS, Special Secretary and Project Director, TNDIC., said, This momentous occasion represents a major step forward for the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor and showcases our commitment to fostering a thriving business environment for defence companies.'
Senior officials from Rolls Royce UK and Asia were present at the tree-planting ceremony to mark the venue for the new facility.
IAMPL started operations in India in 2010 with the manufacture of high-precision aero-engine compressors and gas turbine parts.
It now supplies nearly 200 parts for multiple civil aero engine programmes of Rolls-Royce, with customers and suppliers located throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
