In its grand plans for India, Renault announced that it will bring two C-SUVs to the country in 2025. They will be two-row and three-row SUVs of which we already know that the former will be an India-spec next-generation Duster while the latter will be the production-ready version of the Dacia Bigster. It’s the latter that will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show next week and come to India in 2025.

A brief teaser from Dacia reveals what we had expected all along- The same Duster silhouette and elements but in a longer avatar to accommodate a third row of seating. It’s expected to make use of the same engine and underpinnings as the Duster and will of course also spawn equivalent Nissan models.

The Renault/Nissan alliance has been building up slowly over the last few years with various models like the Kwid, Magnite and Kiger. This will be their return to the C-segment where they tasted decent success with the likes of the Duster and Terrano. But while those cars came when the segment was nascent, this will be a much bigger hill to climb and the alliance will have to specific USPs to push their cars and not let them be lost in the crowd. All four models will be produced in India for the local market but also for export to both RHD and LHD markets.
