Renault Group has announced its partnership with ST Engineering Antycip to develop a collaborative, 4K, powerwall-based solution which could be installed at Renault’s facilities in South Korea, India and Brazil.

Notably, the trio of installations, in Busan (South Korea), Chennai (India) and São José dos Pinhais (Brazil), utilise three identical systems comprising one powerwall, one high-end 5m × 2.5m screen and one plinth-mounted Christie 4K10-HS laser projector.

A PC cluster, monitor, desk, cabling, 5.1 audio system and wireless presentation hardware (Barco ClickShare) complete the solution, which was entirely sourced, designed and implemented by ST Engineering Antycip.

Meanwhile, the three powerwall systems run Renault’s own 4K-native software and content and will be used by the carmaker’s local teams for product design and review.

The powerwall systems are also designed to collaborate with each other and with Renault Group’s headquarters in Paris, a press release from Renault stated.

Johan Besnainou, Regional Director, ST Engineering Antycip - France and Spain, said, “We got involved in the request for a quotation and won the tender thanks to our VR expertise, the experience of working to budgets and track record of delivering high-performance AV equipment, as well as our international network of strong local partners, including in South Korea, India and Brazil.”

The release added that ST Engineering Antycip sourced most of the AV equipment locally to help with the logistics and stay within the budget, in addition to also providing training on the new system through its local partners in each country.

Besnainou said the company used local suppliers to avoid delays as it didn’t want the products to get stuck at customs. The company was entrusted with designing and integrating the powerful Virtual Reality (VR) suite for one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers.

The development of a custom product design VR solution for Renault’s teams in India, South Korea and Brazil built on the companies’ previous collaborations in the VR world. Renault France is a historical client of ST Engineering Antycip in the automotive industry.
