The French automaker, Renault India, on Monday launched the 2022 model year Kwid at INR 4.49 lakh, ex-showroom, India.
For the new model, the hatch gets a new option, the RXL(O), available in both the 0.8L 1.0L SCe powertrain options mated to a manual or automatic transmission. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 22.25 kmpl with the 0.8L engine. It also gets new interior and exterior colour options, including Metal Mustard & Ice cool White with a Black roof in Dual Tone with white accents in the Climber. Complementing the new paint scheme is the new sets of dual-tone flex wheels.
On the safety side, the car has been updated with seat belt Pyrotech and load limiter as a standard. It also comes with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD, seat belt reminder, overspeed alert, reverse parking sensors, among others.
Other notable features of the Kwid 2022 include an 8-inch MediaNAV evolution touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, video playback and voice recognition, along with LED DRLs.
It comes with a comprehensive manufacturer warranty for two years or 50,000 km with an extension option up to five years and an easy-care package to cover maintenance needs.
First launched in 2015, the carmaker claims to have a customer base of 400,000 with the entry-level hatch. Manufactured at the company’s Chennai plant, it boasts 98% localisation content.
