Pratap Bose Resigns From Tata Motors After 14 years; Martin Uhlarik To Take Over

Martin Uhlarik will replace Pratap Bose as the new Global Design Head of the company. He will continue to operate from TMETC in the UK.

Pratap Bose, Vice-President, Global Design of Tata Motors has put down his papers after a 14 years long stint at the company. 

Bose played an instrumental role in changing the design language of Tata Motors which was primarily responsible for the turnaround of the company. Under the impact 2.0 design language, the company launched a series of products from Taigo Hatchback to Safari SUV. 

Confirming the news Tata Motors said, Martin Uhlarik will be replacing Pratap Bose as the new Global Design Head of the company. He will continue to operate from TMETC in the UK.

Uhlarik will lead teams in the three Tata Motors Design centres in Coventry (UK), Turin (Italy) and Pune (India). He will report to Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors.

He has been involved in the design of successful nameplates with leading global OEMs. Since joining Tata Motors in 2016 as Head of Design, UK, he has led the development of the Impact 3 generation of vehicles.

Uhlarik has a degree in Industrial Design from the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto, Canada in 1993 and a degree in Transportation Design from Art Center College of Design in Vevey, Switzerland in 1994.
