In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche has unveiled the exclusive '911 Turbo 50 Years' edition at Monterey, California. This special edition, limited to just 1,974 units worldwide, honours the legacy of the iconic sports car with a blend of high-performance engineering and luxurious, historically-inspired design elements.
The 911 Turbo 50 Years model is based on the 2025 911 Turbo S (992.1) and incorporates design features that pay tribute to the early 911 Turbo models. The exterior of the car includes standard decals inspired by the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo, which first appeared at the 1973 International Motor Show (IAA). For the first time, Porsche introduces the exclusive Turbonite colour, applied to various parts of the vehicle including the rear decklid inlays, fuel cap, and Porsche crest. The model also features Anthracite Grey accents, a nod to historic Turbo models, visible on the rear wing, lower rear fascia, exterior mirror base, and air intake grilles.
The interior of the 911 Turbo 50 Years reflects the spirit of the 1970s with unique design touches. The seat centres and inner door panels are upholstered in 'MacKenzie' tartan, a clear homage to the early Turbo models. Additional features include Turbonite contrast stitching, black leather trim pieces, and an illuminated 'turbo 50' designation on the door sill guards. Each model is fitted with an anniversary plaque above the glove compartment, displaying the individual limited number of the vehicle.
For enthusiasts seeking even more exclusivity, Porsche offers the optional Heritage Design Package '50 Years Turbo.' This package includes additional design elements inspired by the 911 Turbo models of the 1970s, such as Aventurine Green Metallic paint, white silk matte decals, and historic Porsche crests. The interior of the Heritage Design Package variant is further enhanced with extended leather surfaces and additional tartan elements.
Under the bonnet, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is powered by a 3.7-litre boxer engine with VTG twin-turbocharging, delivering 640 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 96 kmph in 2.6 seconds, thanks to its 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive. The model also comes with a sport exhaust system, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with a 10 mm lower ride height, and other advanced features as standard.
To complement the vehicle, Porsche Design has created a special edition chronograph, the Chronograph 911 Turbo 50 Years, available exclusively to owners of the special edition car. This timepiece is limited to 1,974 units and features a black watch face with Turbonite elements, mirroring the dashboard clock of the car. The chronograph is equipped with a COSC-certified Porsche Design calibre WERK 01.200 with fly back function and includes a leather strap matching the car's interior.
