German marque Porsche has increased the value quotient of the Macan EV by introducing two new variants in the range. The new variants, the standard RWD and the 4S, are priced at Rs. 1.22 crore and Rs. 1.39 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.
The most significant difference between all three variants of the Macan EV is the powertrain. The entry-level RWD variant is propelled by a 100kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor developing 360bhp and 573Nm, sending power exclusively to the rear wheels. The range of this derivative is claimed to be 641km. The mid-spec 4S variant gets a 100kWh battery pack and two electric motors with an output rated at 516bhp and 820Nm and has a claimed range of 606km on a single full charge.
For the uninitiated, the top-end Porsche Macan EV Turbo also gets a 100kWh battery pack and a dual-motor setup which generates 630bhp and 1,130Nm. This offering has a claimed range of 591km on a single full charge. Courtesy of the 800V charging architecture which allows charging via 270kW chargers, the battery can be juiced up from 10-80 per cent in 21 minutes.
Apart from the differences in the battery pack and specifications, the Porsche Macan EV range gets minor revisions including a set of new 20-inch wheels (optional), Slate Grey Neo paint, and another optional feature in the form of an off-road design package. The latter not only increases the ground clearance by 10mm but also offers an enhanced approach angle.
