German luxury carmaker Porsche India announced that it has seen a 118% jump in H1CY22 to 378 units compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the numbers suggest that the company has managed to sell more vehicles than it managed in 2018, 2019 and 2020 each.
According to a press release from the company, out of the 378 units sold, 167 were Cayenne and 125 were Macan accounting for 77% of all sales, followed by the Taycan with 37 units.
Additionally, the company’s flagship vehicle, the 911 Coupé recorded sales of 27 units, while the family-sized limousine Panamera accounted for a sale of 19 units, the release added.
Manolito Vujicic, Brand Director, Porsche India, noted that the figures suggest that the industry is recovering with demand for high-end sports cars returning to pre-pandemic levels.
“With the continued push towards electrification, we are heartened to see strong demand for the Taycan from day one, making it our third best-seller so far this year,” he added.
Interestingly, July 2022 marks the tenth year for Porsche in India. Earlier this year, KUN Premium Cars was appointed as the dealer partner in Chennai and VST Supercars as the dealer partner in Bengaluru.
