Pierer Mobility AG has announced the acquisition of a 50.1% stake in MV Agusta motorcycles. Pierer Mobility is the parent company of KTM AG and with over fifty per cent share in MV Agusta, it has a controlling stake in the company.
KTM AG previously had a 25.1% stake in MV Agusta back in November 2022. This was done as part of capital increase. In the following year, KTM AG took charge of purchasing and supply chain for MV Agusta. It also facilitated the distribution of MV Agusta’s motorcycles through its channels.
While KTM AG had the option to acquire a majority stake in MV Agusta after December 2025, the company has done so prematurely. With the controlling stake in the Italian manufacturer, KTM AG will now take over the industrial management of the company. Also part of the plans for the storied Italian manufacturer is an increase in production capacity at the Varese factory to over 10,000 units.
Also, following the takeover Hubert Trunkenpolz has assumed the position of the CEO and chairman of the board of directors of MV Agusta. The former boss, Timur Sardarov is now the vice-president, brand ambassador and consultant for MV Agusta motorcycles.
