Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL), the 100 % subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group, has launched two new electric 3-wheelers: Ape E-City FX Max in the passenger segment and Ape E-Xtra FX Max in the cargo segment.
Priced at INR 325,794, the Ape E-City FX Max offers a range of 145 km, while the Ape E-Xtra FX Max promises a range of 115 Km, priced at INR 343,458 for the WP variant. Diego Graffi, Chairman & MD, PVPL, noted that the running cost for the former is INR 40 paise per km, while for the latter, it is INR 48 paise per km.
He said, “Our talented team of engineers and R&D has designed the new Ape FX Max range to ensure optimum value for customers through the better range, gradeability, and load-carrying capacity, as well as providing a total competitive cost of ownership. We feel the new range is an entrepreneur’s best bet to reap maximum benefits. With our vision fixed on the future of mobility, Piaggio Vehicles will continue its stride to move India forward in its mission to adapt alternate fuels.”
Both the electric three-wheelers feature 12-inch tyres, a reserve range of up to 5km, telematics 2.0, and new styling. The company says that an all-women team is assembling both the E3Ws.
Piaggio offers a warranty of 175,000 kms on the passenger variant and 150,000 kms on the cargo variant. The company noted that these new vehicles are AIS-156 safety norms (vehicle & battery) compliant.
Besides the launch of the new range, PVPL also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with key industry partners.
