Ola Electric's CEO took to social media to announce the launch of the Ola S1 electric scooter. The start-up will sell this latest Ola electric scooter at an introductory price of INR 99,999.
Built on the same platform as Ola S1 Pro electric scooter, Ola S1 features a 3KwH battery. It promises a range of 141 km and a top speed of 90Km/h. The window for purchasing the latest Ola S1 is open until August 2022, noted Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO, of Ola Electric.
The start-up has partnered with five banks, namely Axis, HDFC, ICICI, Kotak, and IDFC, to offer financing on Ola S1 scooters. This latest electric scooter from Ola supports all software currently deployed on Ola S1 Pro. Aggarwal explained that this latest electric scooter from his company will also comply with all future software launches, by the company.
Most of the features on the Ola S1 are identical to Ola S1 Pro. The new scooter's colours include Jet Black, Porcelain White, Neo Mint, and Liquid Silver. Ola Electric is currently offering a scheme where consumers can book an Ola S1 at INR 499 only. Notably, the Ola S1 Pro costs INR 140,000 in India. The latest launched Ola S1 is about INR 40,000 economical than Ola S1 Pro. The start-up has sold over 70,000 Ola S1 Pro electric scooters in last seven months.
Aggarwal also mentioned that the company will release a list of 100 electric vehicle chargers on Ola Electric's HyperCharger list. These chargers will be functional by the coming Diwali in India.
Ola's future factory, as per Aggarwal, will be able to manufacture one million cars, 10 million two-wheelers, and 100 GWh of cells every year. He also took a moment to showcase Ola Electric's upcoming electric car.
Set to be launched in 2024, Ola's first electric car will feature an all-glass roof, ADAS, MOVE OS, and a keyless entry design. He claimed that the car will be able to accelerate zero to 100 Km/hr in under four seconds and will feature a range of over 500 Km/charge. While Aggarwal has not shared the cost of the upcoming electric car, it seems as if the same will be launched under INR 25 lakh price tag in India.
