NXP India has announced the launch of Season 5 of its Tech Startup Challenge, in collaboration with Startup India Hub, Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), Electropreneur Park, Semiconductor Fabless Acceleration Lab (SFAL), and INCeNSE. The programme seeks to foster innovation in India’s technology sector and strengthen the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and semiconductor ecosystem.

Applications for the Tech Startup Challenge are open from 6 February to 6 March 2025, inviting startups that are incorporated in India and have at least 51 per cent Indian ownership. The challenge focuses on startups working in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, 5G, Edge Computing, Functional Safety, Security, and emerging technologies like Ultra-Wideband and Wi-Fi 6. Startups innovating in Automotive, Industrial IoT, Smart Cities, Smart Homes, Healthcare, and Energy Management are also encouraged to apply.

The top three winners will share a prize pool of INR 10 lakh and gain exclusive mentorship from NXP India experts through three interactive sessions per month for three months. Additionally, they will secure finalist positions at the prestigious Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), gaining global exposure and evaluation by a panel of high-profile investors.

Beyond monetary rewards, the top 10 selected startups will benefit from equity-free pre-incubation programmes at Electropreneur Park, SFAL, and INCeNSE. These programmes offer access to advanced lab facilities, technical mentorship, business guidance, and reimbursement for prototyping expenses. Benefits include pre-incubation at Electropreneur Park for up to three months with state-of-the-art lab equipment and supplier connections, a four-month cohort at SFAL with specialised tools, and a three-month programme at INCeNSE, including access to nanofabrication and industry events.
