Nissan Motor India has confirmed the addition of two new vehicles to its Indian portfolio as part of its strategy to strengthen its position in high-growth automotive segments. The company will launch an all-new 7-seater B-segment Multi-Purpose Vehicle (B-MPV) in FY25, followed by a new 5-seater C-segment Sports Utility Vehicle (C-SUV) in early FY26. Both models were unveiled as teasers at the company’s recent global product showcase in Yokohama, Japan.

The upcoming C-SUV will take design inspiration from the globally renowned Nissan Patrol, bringing a more assertive and bold visual identity to the compact SUV segment in India. The model is expected to feature high approach and departure angles to tackle Indian road conditions and will be equipped with advanced technology and Nissan’s SUV DNA. Though pricing has not been officially disclosed, the vehicle is likely to be positioned around INR 15 lakh to INR 22 lakh, competing with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Tata Harrier.

Meanwhile, the all-new B-MPV will offer a value-driven option for larger families seeking comfort and utility without compromising driving experience. With its muscular styling and three-row seating layout, the B-MPV targets practical users who demand flexibility and quality. Nissan expects this model to appeal to price-conscious buyers in the INR 10 lakh to INR 16 lakh range, rivalling players such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Renault Triber.

Both the B-MPV and C-SUV will be manufactured at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai, aligning with the company’s ‘Make in India for the World’ strategy. The C-SUV will be the second model from this plant to follow Nissan’s global ‘One Car, One World’ export initiative, after the Magnite. This approach is aimed at not only meeting domestic demand but also driving exports to international markets.

Nissan India has set an ambitious goal of achieving 1 lakh units in combined annual domestic sales and exports. The upcoming products are seen as crucial to this target, expanding Nissan’s presence in the growing MPV and SUV segments. The company already enjoys a strong foothold in the B-SUV segment with the Magnite, which has contributed significantly to its current volumes.
