Nissan Begins Export Of Left-Hand Drive Magnite

Building on this momentum, Nissan Motor India is set to export over 7,100 additional units in February 2025, targeting markets in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Nissan Motor India has officially commenced exports of the Left-Hand Drive (LHD) variant of the New Nissan Magnite. The first shipment, comprising nearly 2,900 units, was dispatched from Chennai’s Kamarajar Port (KPL - Ennore) in late January 2025, destined for select Latin American (LATAM) markets.

By the end of February, the company will have shipped over 10,000 units of the LHD New Nissan Magnite, reinforcing India’s role as a key global manufacturing and export hub.

Nissan’s Global Expansion

Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation & President of Nissan India Operations, highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion, stating, 'Nissan Motor India has been diligently working towards expanding its operations beyond the domestic market. We are thrilled to begin exports of the New Nissan Magnite to Left-Hand Drive (LHD) markets, a significant achievement that will introduce this India-made vehicle to new global customers.'

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, emphasised the company’s commitment to localisation and global growth. 'The Magnite showcases the best of Japanese engineering blended with local expertise. This expansion aligns with our ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision, ensuring world-class innovation, safety, and value for customers worldwide.'

Keerthi Prakash, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd., said, 'The successful production and export of the New Nissan Magnite to LHD markets underscore the exceptional capabilities of our team and the world-class standards at our Chennai plant.'
