Royal Enfield is gearing up for its second big launch of 2024 – the Scrambler 650 – a bike based on the Interceptor 650. A patent picture of the production-ready model is out and it shows almost all of its design language.

Royal Enfield’s first 650cc bike that came from the famous 650cc platform was the Interceptor 650. Since then, the company has launched a lot of new models built on this platform and some of them have managed to gain good traction in India as well as abroad. Now this platform is almost six years old, but the company believes that it could continue to develop more bikes like the Scrambler 650, which is rumoured to be called the Bear 650.

This Royal Enfield is likely to be positioned as an urban bike with some off-road abilities too. This is why the bike could be seen with USD forks, dual-purpose tyres, handlebar brace and scrambler-styled exhaust. The rest of the parts are likely to be borrowed from the Interceptor 650.

Over the last few years, there has been increasing demand for scramblers and bikes like the Triumph Scrambler 400X is doing quite well for the company. Royal Enfield believes that this bike will cater to a newer set of buyers – these buyers are quite aspirational and want something that looks and also rides differently. The company is likely to launch this bike at the 2024 Motoverse which will happen in late November.
