Kia India has announced that the New Sonet has surpassed 1 lakh sales within just 11 months of its launch in January 2024. With a starting price of INR 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the New Sonet has established itself as a preferred choice among compact SUV buyers averaging nearly 10,000 units in monthly sales.

The Sonet’s success is driven by its extensive line-up of 22 variants, offering six different powertrain options. Petrol variants accounted for 76% of total sales, while diesel variants made up 24%. Reflecting changing consumer preferences, 34% of buyers chose automatic or intelligent manual transmissions, and variants equipped with sunroofs constituted a significant 79% of overall sales. This diverse range has allowed Kia to cater to a wide spectrum of buyers in the competitive compact SUV market.

Additionally, it offers one of the lowest maintenance costs in its segment, 16% lower for petrol variants and 14% lower for diesel variants compared to competitors. The Sonet is available in a variety of customisation options, including five interior colour schemes and a range of exterior finishes, featuring eight monotone, two dual-tone, and one matte finish colour.
