Bits and pieces of the new Force Gurkha have been making their way into the internet and now Force itself has revealed the cabin of the new SUV, detailing its feature list for the first time. It’s a decent upgrade from the outgoing car and now surprisingly puts it on a par with the Maruti Jimny.
The teaser image reveals the five-door model will offer three rows of seating, something that had been expected in the model for a while now. What’s more, it will get dual-tone upholstery and, more importantly, a pretty decent-looking and detailed digital instrument cluster. Glimpses of the cluster reveal features including TPMS, dual trip meters, and a traction control program and a bigger touchscreen system. These are all features that are offered with the Jimny too but over the Gurkha, it additionally gets button start and cruise control.
The Gurkha and the Jimny may be powered by different fuels but they will have the same hardware in terms of off-roading. This list includes locking differentials for the front and rear, on-the-fly 4WD modes, and significant ground clearance with all-terrain tyres. The new Gurkha finally joins the lifestyle SUV race where it will take on the Mahindra Thar and the Maruti Jimny, of which the Thar will also get a five-door model this August.
