Airbus’ new single-aisle Airspace cabin is now in commercial service on A320 Family jetliners. German carrier Lufthansa is the first European airline to introduce the new Airspace cabin into service on a new A321neo.

Airbus has provided extra personal space at shoulder level for passengers sitting near the window by using slimmer sidewall panels. Passengers will also have better views through the windows, which now feature redesigned bezels and completely integrated window shades.

The Airspace cabin features redesigned overhead bins with 60% more space for bags. In addition, the new lavatory design features hygienic touchless features and antimicrobial surfaces, while the cabin features the latest full LED lighting technologies and a more welcoming LED-lit ‘entrance area’.

Lufthansa was the first operator of the A321 and the A320neo and decided to equip more than 80 of its new A320 Family aircraft with the new Airspace cabin in 2018.
