Naan Mudhalvan, the flagship initiative aimed at transforming the skilling landscape of Tamil Nadu, announced a strategic collaboration today with Stellantis, a global leader in the automotive and mobility sectors. The initiative focuses on fostering diverse talent and empowering future leaders to innovate in today’s competitive global market.
As part of this collaboration, a comprehensive Faculty Development Programme (FDP) has been designed to upskill educators in key fields such as Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (MECH), and Automobile Engineering. The goal of the programme is to ensure that faculty members gain in-depth knowledge of the latest trends and technologies shaping the automotive industry, thereby enhancing the academic curriculum for students.
Over the course of five intensive days, the FDP will feature more than 20 sessions, led by over 25 senior executives and industry experts from Stellantis. Participants will delve into cutting-edge topics such as vehicle design, powertrain technologies, and autonomous and connected vehicles, with practical hands-on lab sessions and plant tours to provide real-world industry exposure. Upon completion, educators will receive certification, empowering them to deliver advanced and industry-relevant knowledge to their students.
This initiative is set to benefit over 130 lecturers from 50+ colleges across Tamil Nadu, ultimately impacting around 10,000 students by preparing them for the demands of the fast-evolving automotive sector.
Shailesh Hazela, CEO & MD of Stellantis India, said, “As the industry shifts towards electrification, autonomous technologies, and sustainable mobility, we are committed to equipping future leaders with cutting-edge knowledge and hands-on experience. By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, we aim to build a workforce that is prepared for today’s challenges and capable of driving tomorrow’s innovations.”
In addition to the FDP, Naan Mudhalvan, in partnership with the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), plans to incorporate the knowledge gained from this program into future curricula, ensuring students receive an up-to-date education tailored to the dynamic needs of the automotive industry.
