Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co Ltd has announced a strategic partnership with Log9 Materials to drive advancements in the electric vehicle (EV) market. This partnership focuses on creating an integrated powertrain solution tailored for electric two- and three-wheelers, combining Musashi’s high-performance e-Axle system with Log9’s cutting-edge battery technology.
The collaboration aims to address key challenges in EV energy management, scalability, and service reliability, setting new benchmarks for performance, durability, and efficiency. By integrating battery packs with e-Axles, the partnership will significantly reduce energy losses in conventional powertrains, ultimately extending vehicle range and improving performance under various driving conditions. This is particularly relevant in densely populated urban areas where efficient energy management is crucial.
Targeting both Indian and global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), this partnership seeks to optimise the synergy between battery and drivetrain systems, ensuring a seamless and more efficient EV experience. Pankaj Sharma, Co-Founder of Log9 Materials, stated “We are thrilled to work with Musashi to develop the most efficient powertrain solutions for electric vehicles. Our shared vision of decarbonising the world through innovation will bring high-performance, energy-efficient solutions to market.”
Hiroshi Otsuka, President and Group CEO of Musashi, added “Our joint efforts with Log9 will offer an integrated solution that enhances energy efficiency and sets new industry standards. This partnership will address market gaps and contribute to the development of electric two- and three-wheelers, which are critical for transportation and last-mile deliveries in regions like India.”
The partnership also focuses on a centralised service model that promises to reduce repair downtime, improve customer satisfaction, and ensure quicker service turnarounds. By establishing new benchmarks in powertrain development, the collaboration is set to make electric mobility more accessible, particularly in regions where two-wheelers and three-wheelers are essential modes of transportation, such as India and Southeast Asia.
Beyond the Indian market, Musashi and Log9 are looking to expand their reach into Southeast Asia and Africa, supported by a comprehensive after-sales service network in major Indian cities. This partnership aligns with Musashi’s strategic goals of driving innovation and supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, further accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles.
