Leading Indian carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Friday announced the launch of the updated Ertiga at INR 8,35,000, ex-showroom, India, for the base LXI trim level. The S-CNG range starts at INR 10,44,000, ex-showroom, India, for the base VXI trim level.

The MPV can also be owned through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe at an all-inclusive monthly subscription fee starting from INR 18,600 for Petrol and INR 22,400 for the CNG variant.

Based on the HEARTECT platform, the new vehicle is now powered by the Next-Gen K-series 1.5L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology, delivering a peak power of 75.8kW at 6,000rpm and a max torque of 136.8Nm at 4,400 rpm.

Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed Automatic Transmission with paddle shifters. The company claims a mileage of 20.51 km/l for the petrol variant and 26.11km/kg for the CNG one.

The interior of the new MPV has been updated with a metallic teak-wooden finish on the dashboard and plush dual-tone seat fabric. The vehicle retains its one-touch recline and slide mechanism for the second row and the 50:50 spilt for the third row.

It also comes with air-cooled can holders, a front-row armrest with utility box, bottle holders, smartphone storage, an option of a power socket in each row, roof-mounted AC for rear passengers, and a 7-inch Smart Play Pro infotainment system with voice control.

Besides, it gets the Suzuki Connect as well, through which customers can control various functions, including remotely accessing and operating the AC function, door lock, headlamps Off, hazard lights, alarm, etc.

In terms of safety, the vehicle is packed with a dual airbag, ESP with Hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, rear parking sensors, 2nd-row ISOFIX child seat anchorages, speed alert system, driver and co-driver seat belt reminders are equipped as standard along with Cruise Control, Driver side auto-window up with anti-pinch, auto headlamps with follow me home functionality.

The company claims that the MPV has helped it garner 750,000 customers since it was launched in 2012.
