Leading Indian automaker Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday announced that it has crossed the one million sales mark for its S-CNG range of cars, including Alto, S-Presso, WagonR, Celerio, Dzire, Ertiga, Eeco, Super Carry and Tour-S.
Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, noted that with the government’s target to reach 10,000 CNG stations across the country in the next few years, the company expects the demand for CNG vehicles to remain robust.
“As a technology, CNG will play a bigger and significant role in reducing carbon emission of a large volume of passenger vehicles,” he added.
The S-CNG range of cars has Dual Interdependent ECUs with an Intelligent Injection system, re-tuned chassis suspension & braking system and a common-rail-based CNG injection system over the petrol counterparts.
Additionally, they also feature a microswitch to stop the vehicle from starting while refuelling, stainless steel CNG pipes, advanced dual solenoid system, non-return valve mechanism, CNG filler filter, petrol mode ignition for enhanced lubrication and integrated electrical system/ integrated harness to eliminates chances of short-circuits.
