The second and final day of the first edition of ‘Motion in Control 2021 – Indian Vehicle Dynamics Conference,’ concluded with a power-packed knowledge enriching session from various OEMs, in addition to suppliers such as CEAT, Bosch and ATS.
As the infrastructure is developing day by day, there is a growing need for NVH and Vehicle Dynamic testing. With this aim, CEAT demonstrated their technologies on objective vehicle dynamic testing.
Kaustubh Kirtane and Rahul Sanghani, both Managers of Vehicle Dynamics at CEAT, stated that along with four-wheeler vehicle dynamic testing, the tyre manufacturer is also working on objective testing for vehicle dynamics and tyres in the two-wheeler segment. Furthermore, on the product side, the company is working on tyre technologies for EVs and Sports SUVs, which are gaining popularity day by day in India.
Further, Tarun Appachu, Marketing Lead, Chassis System, Bosch India, demonstrated the importance of ESP and further developments of the system, which was later tested on the track in the second half of the day.
Automotive Test System (ATS) showcased its latest offering in virtual vehicle testing software. The IPG vehicle testing software, divided into CarMarker, TruckMaker and MotorcycleMaker, can perform both SIL and HIL tests. Later the system was demonstrated by S Ramanathan, Vice Chairman, Technical, SAENIS and Managing Director, ATS, to the delegates.
The second half of the day saw various track tests across two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Slalom and ABS tests were performed on Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Honda CB200.
On the four-wheeler side, ESP on wet surface and ABS were performed on Mahindra XUV 300. In addition, sine with Dwell test along with Steady State Circular, Double and Single lane change, Slalom and ESP tests were conducted on two Maruti Suzuki Ciaz cars.
The second phase of the event will be a virtual conference; eminent leaders from the industry will address the four-day webinar. The conference is scheduled for 1-4 December 2021.
