M&M Launches Five-Seater XUV 700 At INR 11.99 Lakh

Home-grown automaker, Mahindra & Mahindra on Saturday unveiled XUV700 mid-size SUV in Chennai.

The company has launched XUV700 for both global and domestic markets. The vehicle will compete with the likes of  Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari. The company has priced its newest SUV at INR 11.99 Lakh. 

The new SUV will sport the new Mahindra ‘Twin Peaked’ logo.

According to the company, the vehicle will come with several segment first features and have a five and seven seater layout.

It will be powered by both petrol and diesel. The petrol variant will house four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo-petrol Mahindra mStallion unit which generates 200 hp power and 380 Nm torque.

While the diesel variant is powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk turbocharged unit tuned to deliver 155 hp power and 360Nm torque and one tuned to higher variant will churn out 185 hp and 420 Nm torque.

The diesel engine will come with four drive modes - Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom.

Both petrol and diesel engines will be mated with a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of features, the SUV will come with a dual 10.25-inch screen layout, one for the infotainment and the other for the instrument cluster. The infotainment system is powered by newly developed Adrenox with Alexa voice commands.

Other features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, auto booster headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery and dashboard inserts, electronic parking brake, and a custom-built 12 speaker setup from Sony.

In terms of safety features, XUV700 will come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), forward collision warning (FCW), lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, smart pilot assist, traffic sign recognition, and driver drowsiness detection.

Apart from this the vehicle will come with seven airbags, ABS with EBD, customisable voice alerts for speeding, and seatbelts with lap and retractor pretensioners for front seats.

Here are the prices of Mahindra XUV700 entry-level variants. The prices for top-of-the-line AX7 as well as the AX3 and AX5 petrol automatic and diesel powertrain have not been announced yet.
