Automobile industry showcases green innovations in support of India's energy transition goals.

Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, inaugurated the Sustainable Mobility Pavilion hosted by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) at the India Energy Week (IEW) 2025 in New Delhi. The pavilion, themed “People-Centric Mobility Ecosystem,” showcases the Indian automobile industry’s latest advancements in sustainable mobility and decarbonisation.

The pavilion features 15 production-ready vehicles and advanced technologies encompassing multiple alternative fuel and powertrain solutions such as Flex Fuel, Gas, Compressed Bio Gas (CBG), Pure Electric, and Hydrogen. Prominent original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, Toyota Kirloskar, Hero MotoCorp, TVS Motor Company, Bajaj Auto, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Suzuki Motorcycle India have displayed their latest innovations. These developments reflect the industry’s multi-pathway approach to achieving sustainable mobility and decarbonising the transport sector.

During his visit, Minister Hardeep Singh Puri commended the Indian automobile industry for its role in driving the energy transition. He remarked that SIAM and its members are making significant strides in alternative fuels and electrification, which are essential to achieving India’s decarbonisation and sustainability objectives.

Prashant K Banerjee, Executive Director, SIAM, reaffirmed the industry’s commitment to pioneering green mobility solutions to help meet the country’s sustainability targets, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

India Energy Week 2025 has attracted over 70,000 delegates from 120 countries, including 20 foreign energy ministers and 90+ CEOs of global energy firms. The event serves as a platform for global dialogue on energy transition, fostering cooperation between stakeholders in the energy and mobility sectors.
